In Greene County district court Ryan James Brown, 50, of Jefferson was found not guilty at a bench trial Nov. 10 of a charge of eluding. The case was dismissed. He was found guilty of a charge in magistrate court of interference with official acts. Sentencing in that case is scheduled for Dec. 12. (Honorable Hans Becker presiding)
Jacob Allen Wayne Roop, 26, of Marshalltown was sentenced Nov. 7 to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of theft- first degree, amended from theft- first degree habitual offender. He is jointly and severally liable with two co-defendants for $10,796 restitution to Wild Rose Casino. He was fined $1,370 with a $205.50 surcharge; both were suspended. The court found him unable to pay court costs or restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. Charges of theft- second degree and criminal mischief- second degree were dismissed. Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Jodi Ann Ganoe, 48, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana; and Nicole Sage, 55, of Grand Junction, operating while intoxicated.
Information is available since the return of arrest warrants in cases against Benjamin Jeffrey Ellingson, 37, of Jefferson. In a case initiated 6/07 he is charged with a sex offender registry violation. In a case initiated 6/22 he is charge with sex abuse- continuous sex abuse of child, sex abuse- third degree child victim member of same household- second offense; lascivious acts with a child enticing minor under age 16 for sexual purpose, prostitution, and sexual exploitation of a minor- cause to engage in act. Warrants for his arrest were returned Nov. 11.
Information is available since the return of arrest warrants in cases against Shanda Jean Ellingson, 39, of Jefferson. In a case initiated 6/07 she is charged with child endangerment. In a case initiated 6/22 she is charge with sex abuse- third degree child victim coerced by person in authority- first offense; sex abuse- continuous sex abuse of child, lascivious acts with child- solicitation, enticing minor younger than age 16 for sexual purpose. In another case she is charged with willful injury causing serious injury, domestic abuse assault-display or use weapon, possession of marijuana, and conspiracy to manufacture, deliver or possess with intent to deliver marijuana less than 50 kg. Warrants for her arrest were returned Nov. 11.
James Kenneth Harris, 35, of Woodward is charged with driving while license barred and operating vehicle without owner’s consent. The arrest warrant was issued 6/29 and returned Nov. 11.
